Following
is a copy of a letter from Aairco president, Robert Zabierek,
that is issued to every customer that chooses to not to replace
their faulty Consolidated furnace after an inspection has
been completed.
The
customer is required to sign a copy for Aairco records:
Dear Valued
Client,
Today,
A-Aairco Air Conditioning & Heating, Inc. inspected your
furnace. After careful review, our technician determined that
Consolidated Industries, Inc manufactured your furnace. Although
a visual inspection and carbon monoxide safety check did not
find anything wrong with your furnace at this time, please
be advised, that this does not mean your furnace has nothing
wrong with it.
A-Aairco
Air Conditioning & Heating has done extensive research
on furnaces manufactured by Consolidated Industries, Inc.,
much of which can be found on our website www.a-airco.com.
In our research, we have found many Consolidated furnaces
to have many factory defects and deficiencies, which include
but are not limited to the following:
- The
highly publicized NOX rod problems.
- Premature,
excessive cracking of the heat exchanger.
- Wide,
gaping cracks and tears in the heat exchangers, which are
not normal under regular wear and tear. (In my 25 years
of experience, I have not witnessed a crack or tear this
bad in any other brand of furnace.)
- The
furnace has a tendency to overheat the heat exchanger, undermining
its integrity and increasing the risk of fire.
- A
stamped seam in the heat exchanger that opens after heating
up, causing a fire risk as well as carbon monoxide danger.
- There
are spots on the heat exchanger that were over ground at
the factory, raising the risk of fire as well as carbon
monoxide poisoning.
The
above concerns put A-Aairco in the position to recommend that
any Consolidated furnace be immediately replaced. If
you decide not to replace your furnace, A-Aairco makes
no warranties and accepts no liability. You further agree
to hold A-Aairco harmless to any harm or injury your continued
use of the furnace might cause.
Sincerely,
Robert Zabierek
President,
A-Aairco
